Good Basketball Skills!!!

Monday was super cool -  tons of elders and sisters were at the apex stake center and it was really awesome because there was a ton of basketball going on!!  I was on the team that never lost.  We won every game we had because we had 2 of the best and tallest guys on the team!!  That is why we won but I like to think it was because of my good looks and winning skills!!!  LOL!!  It was tons of fun because there was over 70 missionaries at the stake center and there were some I had never met or seen before!! I was so tired afterwards and just worn out from all of the playing!! Elder walker was there and everything so it was like a huge party thing with tons of sports. Sadly our appointment that were planned for afterward got cancelled with a man named Marvin so that was upsetting.  We went and tracted which was fun and we met a few really nice people.

Tuesday was the exchange with the Cary second missionaries who are the zone leaders and I went to their area and got to ride in a car.  That was amazing because my butt hurts from all of the biking!! It was cool because we went tracting and we knocked on this ladies door and we got to rake her leaves.  We think she had Alzheimers  but she was funny and super nice and very great full for our help. We then went and did contacting on the NC state campus and we tried passing out cards and just talking to people which isn't the most effective all of the time.  We were laughing and talking about how no one there knows how to wear any clothes but we got a few peoples numbers while there so we can contact them later which was cool. Then we had dinner with a member who made us homemade pizza that was really good and it was cooked on this weird cooker that had a heater and spun around.  It was interesting!! That night though we met a young lady knocking doors who went on a rant about how people are immodest and just the lowering of standers which was really funny because elder Berzintski and I were ranting about it after contacting at the college.

Wednesday we had what is called zone training which was really good and helped us to find the 6 new investigators.  We found them threw what is called spiritually creating and then we put it to the test that day we went and followed the spirit to knock doors.  We met Anne Rogers who was ready to hear about the gospel and we taught her the restoration on her door.  She wanted us to come back and share more. Then we went and committed some members to go and invite some of their neighbors to meet with us and they said they would after we had a powerful lesson on how members can be blessed by doing missionary work.

Thursday- Sadly our two appointments cancelled but we didn't give up we went up to the northern part of our area to tract.  We got let right into a door and it was crazy because we gave them a bible - where in the south EVERYONE has one but they didn't and they were ready for the gospel.  It was amazing!! Then we met this awesome older lady with no teeth and we shared the restoration with her and she wanted us to come back!!  She was super nice and guess what her name is (Glenda) It was amazing to see how she was placed in our path.

Friday- we were out tracting and this lady started bashing with us and it was quite sad because Elder Dobson and I proved her wrong but she didn't want to listen so we ended up leaving and Friday was pretty uneventful.

Started saturday by meeting Dante who is a really nice guy who let us right in and offered us beer and weed it was pretty funny!!  Don't worry I said no I think haha jkjk!!!!  I said no but we taught him the plan of salvation and are going back Wednesday so it will be interesting to see. It was super funny to because we also told him about the word of wisdom haha. We went and delivered a bible to a man named Osmund who had an interesting thought on the second coming so we talked with him about that but he said to come back later after he had a chance to read so we will do that this week!!! Then I got my bike fixed and the guy was awesome!!!  He only made me pay for parts and gave me a really great discount so I will write him a thank you note!! Then that day we met Iris Scott and she was so prepared to have us come!!  She had already met with missionaries and had a baptism date and is so ready but we are going to teach her everything again because we couldn't find a record of her teaching after we had to play detective but it was fun!!

Sunday was great because I fit into my suit that is silver!!  It fits perfectly and it looks dang good!! (It's the one from prom before I left on my mission that did NOT fit)   We taught two lessons at church one about our heavenly family and the other about missionary work to the priests.  It is always fun to teach them because they are funny guys and we just have a great time in there with them. We after church got to go give a blessing to Iris with Brother White who had met her before.  It was powerful and the words spoken were just amazing I cant even describe them in words. After that we had to track Brother White back down because left our phone in his car but we got it back so that was good!! That is mostly all for the week!!

Hope everyone has a great week

Ultimate Frisbee at the Lake

So on Halloween we got to go to the lake and it was really fun.  It was super pretty up at the lake and we played some ultimate Frisbee  which was a blast.  Then we went swimming haha just kidding just kidding!!!!  We didn't swim but it was tempting - it looked so good and it was beautiful!!!  HaHaHa It was great because all the elders were there.

That night I kept the tradition alive and my companion and I went and got pizza!!!  We ate it at a place called bond park and it was super cool.  We did have to bike it there though but it was fun!  We went and passed out candy at some members house, the Whites, who are a super fun family!!

Flash forward to Wednesday and apparently our ride for district meeting almost forgot us!!!  It was really funny but we made it and it was really good. We had a really good Wednesday and it was tons of fun but Thursday is when it got really crazy. So we were sitting there planning and all of a sudden we get a call from President James and we had interviews with him!!  So we biked to the stake center and we were super unprepared and it was funny and crazy but we made it and we still had a good day!

We were then able to go and teach 2 lessons and both of them were really good.  We were able to talk about baptism with one of the investigators named William and it was really great. The other investigators name is Martha and she is pretty sweet!!   It has been really great to be teaching them!!

Then this Sunday was stake conference and it was really good but what was really cool was that Frank Jackson who plays football from duke and Justin Anderson who plays lacrosse from University of North Carolina both came and did a fireside.  It was so cool to be there and meet them it was super amazing!!

Saturday was boring, we knocked like 100 doors and it was so hard!! But this week has been really good and tons of fun!! It has been really great to be out here and it is so weird that it is November!!

Happy Halloween

This last week was really good.  Monday P-day was super fun and went really well. That night we found 2 new people and it was crazy.  It was super amazing!  We gave one of the new contacts the first lesson and we committed him to live the word of wisdom. It was a really good lesson and could feel that the spirit was really there.

We worked really hard and that's when we found the new contact lady!!  It was really cool because she called us over and was just like ready for the gospel!!!  She was open to the lessons and we taught her a lot and it was really awesome!!

We did a lot of tracting during the week. We also had a really awesome lesson with Tori.  We have been teaching her for awhile but this time her mom joined us in the lesson.  The lesson was on feeling the spirit and why we need it in our lives.  The lesson went really well.

The best thing this week was that we got 2 less active members to come to church!!!  One member that came hasn't come to church in over 20 years!!  It was pretty crazy and really awesome!!  He actually event went up and bore his testimony too!!  It was super incredible and the testimomy he shared was amazing it was great to have him come.

We also got some other great news!!  We found out that Taniyah had her final interview with President James and that she is ready for baptism!!!! It has been so amazing to watch her learn and grow in the gospel and now she is ready for baptism.  It will be so awesome to help her plan for this step in her life!!

Thank you for all your love and support!!

Love to all

It's Sweater Weather!!!

Well this week was pretty crazy, Monday we were suppose to have a lesson with Taniyah but that got cancelled.  We went up to the northern part of our area instead and went tracting.  We met some really awesome people - sadly we didnt get to teach anyone but we were able to share a few of our beliefs with some people on their door!  Then this one lady was like do you know what time it is and we were like 8 and she was like oh well its dark and we were like its 8 :)!!  She wasnt happy but it was ok she just closed the door.

Tuesday not to much happened and we just tracted a bunch and tried to talk to people on the green way.  We met this super old lady who has never left Cary!!!  She was born here and it was really interesting to talk to her and we gave her a book of mormon!!

Wednesday we had a great lesson with an investigator named Qua who is very interested.  She is interested in learning more and wants to know if mormons are the ones who are right and she really thought that baptisms for the dead was amazing! Then that night we filled out a survey for our complex  and we got a free pizza it was really cool!

We found a new investigator on Thursday and met with him again on Friday.  It was really cool because he is from Haiti and he is pretty funny and really cool!!  He speaks 4 languauges and he was very intreged by the first vision!!

Saturday was really fun and we finally had to put sweaters on because it is chilly out biking at night!!

Sunday was crazy because we were suppose to have a bunch of people at church and only one showed up!!  :(  Then we had 2 lessons cancelled and we got bashed with!!  We ended up having a great lesson with Taniyah which went super good and she is having a baptismal interveiw with President James this tuesday!!  This week has been really amazing!!  We are still finding people and teaching alot of people and it has been great.  I have been here in Cary longer then any other Elder has been for a very long time and I can say that I love it so much!! I love being a missionary even though times get tough and hard it is always worth it in the end!!

Hawaiian Haystacks and lots of work

This monday was really weird because it was my last P-day with Elder Lingmann and all those who got transferred that I know really well.  As you know we ran a 5k and it was dumb it was actually only 4 miles!! Luckily I didn't have to run it!! We played some sports for the rest of the day and it was fun!!

Tuesday we got on of the priests to come out with us.  His name is Elkanah and he is really awesome.  It was really fun we went to the park and taught a girl with him there with us.  She said she wanted to learn more so that was great! Then we took him and got a frosty!!  It was so much fun and he biked with us! Then that night we found another person to teach.  We didn't even knock on his door, we just walked with him around his apartment complex! It was really cool! We taught him again on Sunday with a member and he is super nice.  His name is Mohidd and he is really awesome!!

Let me tell you that I have never eaten so many Hawaiian haystacks!!!  The one on Sunday was the best ones that we have ever had!!

We did tons of work this week and just had a blast and worked hard. We knocked on a lot of houses and we are trying a new thing at the park.  We are doing a survey and it hasn't been to successful but we are tweaking it and making it better!! The flooding is completely gone now it is crazy!!

This Sunday I had to give a talk in church and it was on service.  Everyone said that I did great but it was scary and it was really funny. I talked about you in my talk!! It was really interesting and then we also taught the priest quorum lesson and that was interesting but fun!  We got 2 investigators to church which is really awesome!!! I have been teaching both of them the whole time that I have been in Cary!!

It was really fun this week and I was looking at everything that I have picked up on my mission!!  This is some of the stuff!! Pictures are Elder Lingmann and I and then a snake on the green way as we were biking and then the stuff i have gotten for free on my mission haha :)

Hope everyone has a great week

I survived Mathew!!!

Well this week was super busy! It started off with a really great P-day that was tons of fun!! We did basketball and some dodge ball and it was tons of fun!!

Then Tuesday was pretty boring we had what is called deep clean day so we spent the whole day just cleaning and it was so boring!!!  It actually felt good later because the apartment got really clean and it felt great!!

Then Wednesday was so awesome!!  We had whats called an activity zone conference and it was so much fun!!!   3 different zones were there and it was crazy!!!  We had a scavenger hunt and then we got to go fishing.  I didn't catch anything which was pretty lame but the drive was so much fun!! We rode with Elder Walker and his companions and it was a party all the way.  We had to wake up at 4:30 to get there on time but it was fun.  At the Zone Conference we had a log run where we ran with this huge poles.  Then a three legged race which was super fun but I hurt my ankle and then a sack race where I hurt my ankle more!!! The best was a tug of war and it was awesome!!!  We beat this one Zone and it was crazy we almost lost and then we came back and just rocked it and beat them but then we lost to the other Zone but it was crazy fun!!

Then Thursday we had first transfer training and it was really awesome.  We got instructed all day and it was really fun and super good!!

Friday we went on an exchange and Elder Walker came to Cary with me and we biked on some awesome green ways.  As it was all wet and we were drifting around corners and it was so much fun.  That night we got pizza and we biked home with it - Awesome!!

Then Saturday was pretty crazy because the hurricane came and it was pretty bad!!!  We got to do service at a place called Dorcas which was super awesome but while waiting to exchange back we went out and played basketball in the hurricane which was super awesome and I drained a half court shot in the storm!!!  It was super awesome!! Then we exchanged back and got told to stay in side for the rest of the day and it was really lame but we got to sleep and yea but it was boring but much needed rest!!

Then yesterday was a super beautiful day and church was great and then we went out and sought out some service and knocked on some doors and it was really cool and then we went around and saw how much damage there was.  The green ways were really flooded it was pretty amazing!! Then this morning we ran a 5k but I biked it because my ankle isn't in the best of shape!!!  Here are pictures of the week!!!

Barf Soda!!!  Bahahaha!!!

New Investigators/General Conference

Well this week was pretty awesome we found a new investigator named Marvin.  He is a really cool black guy who was just out walking around that we talked with him and then went back and taught him!!  It was really good!

This week was just really crazy.  We helped my recent converts family move so we were pretty busy helping them.  They were so grateful for the help and we got Elder Walker and the other elders to come and join us as well so it was a lot of fun!

Then for the rest of the week we had an exchange with the zone leaders who are some of my favorites and they are really awesome elders. While we were on exchanges something really funny happened.  They are madarin chinese speaking and we were looking for some chinese people and we found some and they tried speaking to me in madariin and it was funny!!!

Then the rest of the week was spent getting everything set up for general conference and it was great how it all worked out.  We got Steve (an investigator) to watch it with us! You also need to look up this on youtube (Sam Smith tornado) because he is the guy we watched all of Saturday conference with.  He is so cool and is a really awesome member!!  We got to go to a baptism which was super fun and look at this awesome picture of me in front of the temple!!!! I love how close I am to it!!! I also got a pie!  This is me eating it hahaha!

We had nasty water so we got to do a sleep over on Monday at Elder Walker apartment and it was super fun. Here's a picture of some of the water!!  We went and got cook out that night for food it was so great!!!!  I also got whats called a cook out t-shirt and there is only one place that sells them.  Usually you have to try a bunch of times to get one!

Elder Dobson can shoot my blow dart gun so hard that he broke a container!!

It was another great week.  Love and Miss Everyone

Cancelled Lessons!! :(

Well this week was a ton of fun! Sadly, we didn't have to many lessons but we worked really hard and it was great!

So Monday we ended up getting our lesson cancelled with Steve because his mom has dementia and needed his help so we were praying for her.  We also made sure that he knew we were here to help with anything and everything! That was good and that night we ended up going tracting and found some really cool people.

Tuesday was pretty great with us going up to the most north part and tracting some really cool looking houses! Then Wednesday was a real surprise -  Elder Walker showed up to pick us up and he is now in a trio so we have another person who hangs out with us but it is good he is a nice elder a little different but good! And Wednesday we went on an exchange again and I went back on the NC state campus which was really crazy this time.  It was a bit rainy, not too bad but still tons of people out.  We use a survey as an excuse to make people talk to us so that is fun! That night was so much fun the other elders live right next to the spanish elders for Cary. We just had a ton of fun and I did like 150 push ups (im still sore btw) hahaha but it was a ton of fun. then the rest of the week we spent contacting members and tracting around their houses and just trying to help the ward!

Sunday was really fun 4 people at church whoot whoot! And it was great! We also taught the priest age young men and it went so good the bishop asked us to teach it to the teachers group next week!! So it was an awesome Sunday! Today we got a call and asked if we wanted lunch and this super small Asian lady made us some lunch it was super awesome but that is my week!!

Service is Great

Well Monday was amazing!!!  That night we had a lesson with a man named Steve and it was really awesome.  The spirit was so strong that you literally could have cut it like butter.  It was even more amazing to be able to have Elder Dobson experiance that!

The rest of the week we were just out tracting which was fun and we found this lady with a huge dog that was like 220 pounds -  it was massive!!  We always try to make tracting fun and luckily we didn't get told that we are going to hell or anything like that so that is good!

The weekend was filled with a ton of service and it was really great!!  Some of it was at a horse barn and some other service was at this thrift store and both were really fun!!   I also got to go to the NC state campus which was really cool and we had a ton of fun and there was a party right next to where we taught!!!  It was crazy haha but lots of fun!!  We set up another baptismal date with Taniyah and got Tori and her mom to a stake president fireside which was really great and they really enjoyed.  It has been another great week here in Cary!!!

Arm wrestling champ!!!

So on Monday we got to have an amazing dinner with this recent convert family.  It was super good and we had Elder Lingman and Elder Christensen with us.  That was super fun.

Tuesday we got to have a lesson with our recent convert Kimberly.  We taught her the plan of salvation and then I beat her in arm wrestling which was pretty easy (she is 9) hahaha!!!!   Sadly, she is moving but it is still within the stake so that is good!

Wednesday we had an exchange and I was with Elder Evans and it was tons of fun!!  We ended the night with some ranch soda from a place called rocket fizz and it was pretty gross!!! and we ate brownies that i bought!!

Then the rest of the week was pretty interesting.  We got Taniyah to go with us to a baptism and she said that she felt the spirit so strong so that was way exciting to see!!  Tori came to church and brought her mom with herfor the second time in a row which was super awesome! And now today we have a district activity which will be super fun and what not! We also had dinner with a member and we were like so how long have you lived here and they were like a month and I was like oh I've been here longer then you!!!  It was funny.  We have also biked so much Elder Dobson is gonna need a new bike haha ! But it has been fun and I am loving it so far!!!
