New Ties/FOE Hammer/Goblin Clever - WHAT????

Well this week was really good.  We had a great P-day last monday.  We went to this adventure land and did a bunch of games and played laser tag.  I got 2 new ties and it was pretty awesome! We had a ton of fun and elder Lingman and I kicked peoples butts at laser tag which was pretty funny!! It was a zone activity so it was just a blast! 

Then we worked really hard the rest of the week and we had 3 lessons with our investigator who is getting baptized this saturday.  It is going to be so exciting because her dad will be able to baptize her and he has been less active but has been coming now.  So it has been amazing and I was able to teach her all of the lessons - so it has been really cool to see! 

We also had some great lessons with a girl named Tori.  She is the nicest person ever and just super smart.  The spirit was so strong in the lesson it was great and really amazing to see where she has gotten! Then we also still have another girl getting ready for baptism.  I have taught her a ton and it has been great to see where she was at 2 years ago when she was first  being taught to where she is now.  Its been cool to watch her and she thinks so much deeper then anybody I have ever met.  It has been an awesome experience to have been able to teach her! 

This week has had lots of great tracting and trying to find a family.  We also did a blitz where we had 30 missionaries in 1 area just knocking on doors!!  Great experience!! 

Sunday was beyond amazing!!! I got to hold the FOE hammer and the goblin clever from the Hobbit!!!   It was pretty great and exciting!!!!!!

This week has been really good.  The zone leaders had that prank on me and it started the week out great! 

We have been tracting a lot and had a few lessons that we were able to get members to go out with us.  We got two really great lessons in with Taniyah.  She should be baptized this saturday!!!   That will be really cool and we invited another man to pray about baptism which was great.  Pedro is the one who we invited to be baptized he is from cuba and like 70 years old! We got a recent convert to go out with us to Pedros lesson and they connected very well.  (Everyone does know that they can go on exchanges with the missionaries right!!!!  It is very helpful and cool if any of you can go!!) It was fun to see them connect! Then we had our last lesson with Taniyah.  It was clearing up what the law of chastity is which was kinda awkward!!!  But, we got it all cleared up and she has been taught everything now so that is all good! 

This Sunday was crazy we got this girl that we have been teaching to come to church.  She is 9 and has a hard time getting up for church so we told her we would bring her a treat if she came.  She made it to church so we are going to make cookies for her tonight! 

It was busy and stressful at church on Sunday!!!  Taniyah almost didn't make it to church and she had her baptismal interview.  We were stressed out and worked hard to get her  a ride so she could make it.  It was crazy and were doing all this while we were in church!!!   It worked out and she made it in for her interview so we are just waiting for one more ok.  Then we are good to go so it has been a lot of fun! Also,  if this guy named Evan cant baptize Taniyah,  she has asked me to baptize her.  We will wait and see but it will be amazing whoever baptizes her!

We biked to the top of our area in 102 heat we were drenched in sweat!!!  You just sweat like a fountain in this heat!! It is gross and awesome.  This week we also biked like 30 miles a day and I keep up with Elder Jensen.  He is on his road bike so it is pretty  fast biking and that is most all of this week.  Fun and crazy and what not. 

We are having a Zone activity today so that should be alot of fun.  It is going great out here.  Love and miss you all.  I hope you all have a great week.

Good Pranks

My new companion is Elder Jensen and he is from Pasco Washington so that is pretty cool! He has been out a year and a half so he is my oldest companion but we are co-senior companions.  I am no longer a junior companion so its kinda weird.  I have been co senior since I left Leland so that is kinda crazy but it really doesn't  mean anything - we are just hear to preach the gospel.  

My zone leaders, Elder Christensen and Elder Lingman pulled a pretty good prank on me this morning!!!  It was good!  I was suppose to have an interview with President James but they got told that I actually didn't have the interview and they were suppose to tell me but they didn't!! They thought it was so funny when they showed up to pick me up and I was in my suit and they were just like oh its P-day!!! hahahhaha loser it was funny and good! 

So now here we are today on P-day and no interviews!!. It has been a really good week.  We had three really great lessons and we have a baptismal date set for a young lady in two weeks!!  Her name is Taniyah and she has been so interested in learning the gospel and watching her learn and grow.  I am very excited to be able to be the one to baptize her so that is pretty exciting!! 

It has been really good just helping Elder Jensen get to know the area and the people.  Its been fun and we have been working hard.  He has this spiritual impression that we are gonna find 3 family's here so were are working hard to find them.  We have met some really awesome nice people so far but that is about it.  It has been a good week with a lot of tracting and biking!

Risky business

This week has been pretty good, we started it off on monday with a game of Risk. It was so much fun and we really got to see some the true character of missionaries (LOL) but it was a lot of fun! We also played some basketball but not very much.  Then that night it was pretty fun we went and had a lesson with this lady and she is super awesome.  She has some really interesting thoughts.  She believes in like bigfoot and psychics and stuff its pretty interesting but it is fun! 

Tuesday was good we went and did some service. I bought this really awesome tie for a dollar again! Then we cleaned all day it was pretty great the house so so clean and smelled so good! 

Wednesday was the last district meeting and I am the only elder that is staying so it will be fun. But Wednesday we went on an exchange and I got to drive all day, it was amazing!  I have been biking so much it felt so good to drive.  We got lost but it was fun and we drove by NC State. 

Thursday I honestly don't remember to what we did but the weekend was really good.  We got 2 lessons with this one girl and it was fun to see how much the gospel has helped her and changed her for the better.  Then we taught this really awesome lady who has some pretty interesting things going on in her life.  We were able to teach her about prayer and she prayed with us.  She is really starting to build her relationship with god and it is really amazing to see! This week has been awesome!

Sunday we got a call from president James.  I was so worried that I was getting a call but luckily it was for Elder Garrick.  It was funny, he didn't believe me at first and this was all before church so it was good.  So I am not getting transferred but Eler Garrick got called to be a trainer!!!  This is the second time that my companion got called to be a trainer in a row.   Elder Garrick was totally shell shocked.  He didn't believe it but it was good. So we got him like all packed up and while we packed him up we spaced bag packed ourselves it was pretty funny.  Tomorrow I get my new companion and I stay in Cary though so that was good! Also, we had this totally cool spiritual prompting that we needed to bike home the other day and then it started pouring so hard.  It was a total miracle!

Rainy days and Nasty Flavors!!!

This week was pretty great - we had some fun times!! On the fourth we had our Hawaiian event that President James set up and it was great!  That day was awesome!!  We had an awesome zone activity where we had a water balloon fight and some other water stuff.  It was so much fun! 

Then Tuesday was just a bunch of tracting (everyone else was recuperating from the fourth) and then we got rained on.  It like dumped!!!  It was great and we were soaking wet! It was so much fun then we got rained on the next day too!!  I was with my district leader and that night we had a jelly bean game with these nasty flavored jelly beans and some good ones.  Who ever spit out the bad ones first lost.  It was so gross but i won!!!!  I even ate a barf flavored one - it was horrid!!!  Elder Carlisle lost and he had to eat 2 rotten milk jelly beans!!  I will send the video of it home -  hopefully soon!

Thursday was a lot of fun, we got to do random service for this lady and we really enjoyed it.  Then we rode in the rain again! We had a great time.  A bunch of our investigators were suppose to come back this week but they didn't but it is all good.  We found an old investigator who is crazy but our lesson was amazing so it all works out!

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July from North Carolina!!

Well this week has been pretty fun.  Today we are having another zone activity and kind of partying because its the fourth.  Unfortunately no fire works for us.  We will be working but lucky us, we will  get to go to a Hawaiian cultural event!!!  President James asked his sister to put it on for us and she is married to a Hawaiian!!   Can't wait it will be pretty cool!!!

It's been weird not working at the firework stand this year.  I have worked there for the last 3 years.  We heard fireworks the other night and I like totally got all homesick for a second!!!  LOL!!!   but its all good!!

This week has been good but it has been pretty boring all of our investigators left for the holiday/3 day weekend.  So its been long days of tracting with little to no success.  We will keep trying and get back with them when they return.  

We have a barbecue with a member tonight which should be fun and a member said i have an awesome bike!!! It is an  awesome bike!!  Loving it since we ride 30 to 40 miles a day!!!

It's Hot Out Here!!!

Well this week has been pretty different but very good. It started off with a zone activity which was pretty fun and kinda crazy but good.  It was really fun.  We played kick ball and ultimate frisbee! Then the rest of the night we  just did some tracting but we met some nice people who were pretty awesome.  They gave us some water because it was super hot and humid.  The humidity is so crazy!!!  I sweat so much its kinda gross but its all for fun so thats good! 

The rest of the week was interesting because we had to walk about 4 miles because Elder Garrick popped his bike tire and the closest bike shop was that far away!  It was fun and that same day we had to run to a lesson right after we got the tire fixed but it was good!   We also taught this girl named Tori who is super nice and she is going to be praying about being baptized.  We just had a great lesson with her! Sadly a lot of people are out of town that we teach but its all good.   
Then we were given the idea to draw the plan of salvation on these things called green ways and it was cool!  When we were walking back past our drawings, we were able to teach someone right there and it was pretty cool! Then we biked over 20 miles down to this less actives house and it was so much fun.  It took forever but they were super nice and it was someone the bishop had asked us to visit! So over all this week has been great and we have being playing basketball today and it is tons of fun.  I am loving it so much and it is so amazing everyday!

This Monday was great - for Pday we played a ton of basketball and it was so much fun.  Then we had a great dinner that night!!!

Tuesday we went on an exchange and I got to hang out with Elder Carlisle and Elder Meikle which was super fun.  We got to teach 2 people and then we went and visited less actives with this return missionary who has only been back for like a week!!!  It was so much fun!!!

Wednesday I got back from the exchange and  found out Elder Garricks bike was all messed up.  So we spent like all day trying to fix it and get parts and a miracle happened -  a member saw us and he gave us a ride right before a rain storm hit it was cool! 

Thursday we taught a girl named Tori and it just went amazing!!   We taught her in the bishops home and it was fantastic.  She took notes and was so focused and really wants to know and apparently we taught her so well that it has made her mom more interested now!!!  That was awesome then we taught Kim and she has a baptismal date which is amazing!!!

Sunday is when the miracle happened we got a call then booked it over to a members house to teach this lady named Rena and she was awesome!!!  She had so many questions and loved what we shared and the spirit was so strong there and it has really helped us with our teaching!!

This week has been amazing working with Tori and Kim and Rena.  It was just a great week!!!

Headed to Cary!!! I have a new Address.

This week was good we went to the aquarium which was super fun.  Elder Chiu thought that the fish looked yummy hahah and it was tons of fun!!! Nowm  I am in Cary.  Its great and it is a huge area that is all bike!!!  It is fun and I am defiantly in shape now.  I have lost weight in a week. We found an awesome lady this week her name is Camille.  We had an awesome lesson with her and she invited herself to church it was pretty great! Then we did whats called greenway contacting and we got lost and walked like 8 miles!!!  It was fantastic, we got home super sweaty it was great and then we have had  a lot of member meals and just tracted a lot.  We had some great contacts but thats all. Before I left Leland I ate at the Childs house and we had what was called blue berry cake it was so good!!  Then we had a huge sleep over with the other elders in the district and it was tons of fun!!!  That's about all just biking a lot and meeting people and teaching here and there its been great and i love it so far!

My week in a nut shell:

Well this week started off pretty great.  For P-day we played some good ole red rover with about 6 people!!  That was interesting! Oh the games you play as a missionary hahaha!!!  It was defiantly interesting that is for sure! 

Then Monday night we went to teach one of our investigators and it was really awesome.  We invited Elder and Sister Martin to come and we got what's called a member present lesson which is what you want - it is where the member comes with you and helps teach.  We had only been teaching one of the daughters but now we are teaching the family and it was super awesome! 

Then Tuesday was pretty busy with tracting but sadly we didn't find anyone else but that was still ok! 

Then Saturday and Sunday came and man did they make my week so good! All we did was teach!!!  We taught this man named Ricky and the lesson went really good.  He really thought about what we had shared with him and asked that we give him two weeks to read threw the Book of Mormon and pray about it.  It was awesome and then we went and taught a man named Vinni and he was super nice! He had a lot of really awesome questions which were all around the plan of salvation.  We taught him about that and he said that it made a lot of sense but there were still some what if factors and he doesn't necessarily believe that there is a god but he said he wanted to learn more and he invited us back.  I saw a moment when I know the spirit touched him!!  It was when his son asked a question and elder Chiu and I answered it and I know that the spirit totally directed us in what to say it was really amazing! 

Then Sunday we had a great appointment with a lady named Jeanette.  She just has stop smoking and she really wants to be baptized.  She knows its all true and so we came up with some new idea and are really helping her get to where she wants to be.  It was really awesome to see her want that change in her life! Then we had a meeting with Eden.  He is a Hispanic man and he is super amazing.  We took brother Goodson with us, he speaks Spanish and it was a great lesson.   We taught about the Book of Mormon and we invited him to pray about it after Brother Goodson bore testimony about it and it was amazing.  After we asked him, he started praying about it right then and there and we invited him to be baptized when he knew it was true.  He said he would and it was really amazing and he shared with us some personal things that we had answers for and it was just super great! 

This week has been good and sadly I have to leave but i know that it is in good hands!!!  Today we are planning on seeing a few people who I met and taught.  It is great  to see how we can all touch and effect people with our lives.  It's amazing and I can not wait to help more!
