Rainy days and Nasty Flavors!!!

This week was pretty great - we had some fun times!! On the fourth we had our Hawaiian event that President James set up and it was great!  That day was awesome!!  We had an awesome zone activity where we had a water balloon fight and some other water stuff.  It was so much fun! 

Then Tuesday was just a bunch of tracting (everyone else was recuperating from the fourth) and then we got rained on.  It like dumped!!!  It was great and we were soaking wet! It was so much fun then we got rained on the next day too!!  I was with my district leader and that night we had a jelly bean game with these nasty flavored jelly beans and some good ones.  Who ever spit out the bad ones first lost.  It was so gross but i won!!!!  I even ate a barf flavored one - it was horrid!!!  Elder Carlisle lost and he had to eat 2 rotten milk jelly beans!!  I will send the video of it home -  hopefully soon!

Thursday was a lot of fun, we got to do random service for this lady and we really enjoyed it.  Then we rode in the rain again! We had a great time.  A bunch of our investigators were suppose to come back this week but they didn't but it is all good.  We found an old investigator who is crazy but our lesson was amazing so it all works out!

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July from North Carolina!!

Well this week has been pretty fun.  Today we are having another zone activity and kind of partying because its the fourth.  Unfortunately no fire works for us.  We will be working but lucky us, we will  get to go to a Hawaiian cultural event!!!  President James asked his sister to put it on for us and she is married to a Hawaiian!!   Can't wait it will be pretty cool!!!

It's been weird not working at the firework stand this year.  I have worked there for the last 3 years.  We heard fireworks the other night and I like totally got all homesick for a second!!!  LOL!!!   but its all good!!

This week has been good but it has been pretty boring all of our investigators left for the holiday/3 day weekend.  So its been long days of tracting with little to no success.  We will keep trying and get back with them when they return.  

We have a barbecue with a member tonight which should be fun and a member said i have an awesome bike!!! It is an  awesome bike!!  Loving it since we ride 30 to 40 miles a day!!!

It's Hot Out Here!!!

Well this week has been pretty different but very good. It started off with a zone activity which was pretty fun and kinda crazy but good.  It was really fun.  We played kick ball and ultimate frisbee! Then the rest of the night we  just did some tracting but we met some nice people who were pretty awesome.  They gave us some water because it was super hot and humid.  The humidity is so crazy!!!  I sweat so much its kinda gross but its all for fun so thats good! 

The rest of the week was interesting because we had to walk about 4 miles because Elder Garrick popped his bike tire and the closest bike shop was that far away!  It was fun and that same day we had to run to a lesson right after we got the tire fixed but it was good!   We also taught this girl named Tori who is super nice and she is going to be praying about being baptized.  We just had a great lesson with her! Sadly a lot of people are out of town that we teach but its all good.   
Then we were given the idea to draw the plan of salvation on these things called green ways and it was cool!  When we were walking back past our drawings, we were able to teach someone right there and it was pretty cool! Then we biked over 20 miles down to this less actives house and it was so much fun.  It took forever but they were super nice and it was someone the bishop had asked us to visit! So over all this week has been great and we have being playing basketball today and it is tons of fun.  I am loving it so much and it is so amazing everyday!

This Monday was great - for Pday we played a ton of basketball and it was so much fun.  Then we had a great dinner that night!!!

Tuesday we went on an exchange and I got to hang out with Elder Carlisle and Elder Meikle which was super fun.  We got to teach 2 people and then we went and visited less actives with this return missionary who has only been back for like a week!!!  It was so much fun!!!

Wednesday I got back from the exchange and  found out Elder Garricks bike was all messed up.  So we spent like all day trying to fix it and get parts and a miracle happened -  a member saw us and he gave us a ride right before a rain storm hit it was cool! 

Thursday we taught a girl named Tori and it just went amazing!!   We taught her in the bishops home and it was fantastic.  She took notes and was so focused and really wants to know and apparently we taught her so well that it has made her mom more interested now!!!  That was awesome then we taught Kim and she has a baptismal date which is amazing!!!

Sunday is when the miracle happened we got a call then booked it over to a members house to teach this lady named Rena and she was awesome!!!  She had so many questions and loved what we shared and the spirit was so strong there and it has really helped us with our teaching!!

This week has been amazing working with Tori and Kim and Rena.  It was just a great week!!!

Headed to Cary!!! I have a new Address.

This week was good we went to the aquarium which was super fun.  Elder Chiu thought that the fish looked yummy hahah and it was tons of fun!!! Nowm  I am in Cary.  Its great and it is a huge area that is all bike!!!  It is fun and I am defiantly in shape now.  I have lost weight in a week. We found an awesome lady this week her name is Camille.  We had an awesome lesson with her and she invited herself to church it was pretty great! Then we did whats called greenway contacting and we got lost and walked like 8 miles!!!  It was fantastic, we got home super sweaty it was great and then we have had  a lot of member meals and just tracted a lot.  We had some great contacts but thats all. Before I left Leland I ate at the Childs house and we had what was called blue berry cake it was so good!!  Then we had a huge sleep over with the other elders in the district and it was tons of fun!!!  That's about all just biking a lot and meeting people and teaching here and there its been great and i love it so far!

My week in a nut shell:

Well this week started off pretty great.  For P-day we played some good ole red rover with about 6 people!!  That was interesting! Oh the games you play as a missionary hahaha!!!  It was defiantly interesting that is for sure! 

Then Monday night we went to teach one of our investigators and it was really awesome.  We invited Elder and Sister Martin to come and we got what's called a member present lesson which is what you want - it is where the member comes with you and helps teach.  We had only been teaching one of the daughters but now we are teaching the family and it was super awesome! 

Then Tuesday was pretty busy with tracting but sadly we didn't find anyone else but that was still ok! 

Then Saturday and Sunday came and man did they make my week so good! All we did was teach!!!  We taught this man named Ricky and the lesson went really good.  He really thought about what we had shared with him and asked that we give him two weeks to read threw the Book of Mormon and pray about it.  It was awesome and then we went and taught a man named Vinni and he was super nice! He had a lot of really awesome questions which were all around the plan of salvation.  We taught him about that and he said that it made a lot of sense but there were still some what if factors and he doesn't necessarily believe that there is a god but he said he wanted to learn more and he invited us back.  I saw a moment when I know the spirit touched him!!  It was when his son asked a question and elder Chiu and I answered it and I know that the spirit totally directed us in what to say it was really amazing! 

Then Sunday we had a great appointment with a lady named Jeanette.  She just has stop smoking and she really wants to be baptized.  She knows its all true and so we came up with some new idea and are really helping her get to where she wants to be.  It was really awesome to see her want that change in her life! Then we had a meeting with Eden.  He is a Hispanic man and he is super amazing.  We took brother Goodson with us, he speaks Spanish and it was a great lesson.   We taught about the Book of Mormon and we invited him to pray about it after Brother Goodson bore testimony about it and it was amazing.  After we asked him, he started praying about it right then and there and we invited him to be baptized when he knew it was true.  He said he would and it was really amazing and he shared with us some personal things that we had answers for and it was just super great! 

This week has been good and sadly I have to leave but i know that it is in good hands!!!  Today we are planning on seeing a few people who I met and taught.  It is great  to see how we can all touch and effect people with our lives.  It's amazing and I can not wait to help more!

Happy Birthday!!!

This week went really good!  I really enjoyed it! 

Monday we had a great zone activity! We played a bunch of like running games and I felt great afterwards.  It was really good and lots of fun.  Almost all of the zone showed up but some didn't, sadly but that's alright we had fun without them! 

Then Tuesday was great we spent the whole day on bikes, actually, we spent a lot of the week on bikes. It was good though, it helped me work off some of the food I have been eating!!!  Then we went and met this referral that we received and it was amazing!  She had no idea how she got to where she did to get us to come to her but it happened.  It was such a miracle and really awesome to see.  Then we had a great dinner with the bishop and had a great message for them and thanked him for all that he does to help us.  

Then we had a wonderful Wednesday!!  It was a great birthday!!  Brother and Sister Martin took me out to lunch the day before and then we had an awesome lunch on Wednesday and they decorated a room and the car!!!  Elder Matkin took me to olive garden for my birthday dinner and then Elder Dudley took me to cook out!!! It was a great week and we went running on the beach which was awesome.   I really enjoyed that and it was super awesome! 

Sadly we got dropped by 2 people this week but that is okay, we keep finding new people and they are some super awesome people.  We just keep working hard.  

Then fast forward to Sunday and that day was great.  Some excellent talks were given and then the lesson in priesthood was great.  It was on the three witnesses and pride and it had a great effect on me! This week was really great and has been tons of fun.  Nothing crazy happened this week but it was a fun awesome week!!!

Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes and things.  It was really awesome and made my day even better.

Biscuits and Gravy - Oh my!!!

 Well p day was different last week but we got to go play tennis and I wasn't to shabby.  It was fun but we didn't get to play for very long because the other elders had stuff to do.  It was still good then our dinner that night was so good!!!  We had a full fledged meal it was awesome!!!  There was bacon and sausage and liver pudding that was good and then eggs and biscuits and gravy and oh it was so good!!  The gravy could have been more spicy like my moms but it was still really good.  All very close to my moms cooking but not quite but it was good for sure!! 

This week was full of people not being there for appointments or just rescheduling and a lot of tracting.  Elder Chiu and I make it fun!  He can beat box and I make up weird raps as we walk.  I talk about church stuff it's fun!!  Then Elder Chiu will listen to a lot of Mandarin music in the car which is pretty awesome sounding but I don't know what they are saying. Then Sunday we got to go help a recent convert named Babbs and the bishop came with us.  It was a great meeting and we were really able to help her out and it felt good to be able to help her get threw the emotions she was feeling at that time and help brighten up her day! Then last night we went and were able to visit some less actives with brother Malpass.  We had a great meeting with one of them and I really think that we helped him and his family at that moment to feel the spirit so it was great! Oh and it was wonderful we had a crazy miracle - there was this man that I had met on an exchange in my first transfer, well, I bumped into with Elder Chiu.  He has a testimony of the Book of Mormon and totally loves it but hasn't been able to get in contact with the Elders in Wilmington!!!  We were able to tell him that they would get in contact with him and it was really just amazing.  I really enjoyed it and he totally remembered who I was and then after a minute I remembered him.  It was an amazing experience and it has been a great week.  I got to meet and shake hands with Elder Zwick!! He came and visited our mission it was way cool.  He is in the quorumof the 70!

Loving It!!

 This week has been very sad -  a bunch of appointments got cancelled so we weren't to busy but it was pretty crazy still.  We are helping a lady to stop smoking because that is the thing that is holding her back from being baptized! We didn't have to bike very much either because we have the car again but we had quite a few miracles happen this week.   We met this lady who was had been a member but has fallen away.  She wants to come back and she refereed us to this lady and her son who she knows the gospel will help.  It was pretty great and we got to work with a lot of less actives and recent converts this week.  

We had 3 meals in 1 day it was fantastic and I'm still down on weight so that is even better!!  It was a fantastic week and this guy that had been pretty rude to us one day while we were tracting came out the next day and apologized to us.  It was super nice and he is a really awesome person.  He had a really cool life story and has lived all over the world.  That is about all for this week and Elder Martin taught me this - that hot dogs with mayo and tomatoes on them is really good and with a little salt and pepper!!!  It was weird but really good.  It is awesome to be working with the Martin's they are wonderful and I am enjoying working with them.  Elder Chiu is pretty awesome and a really great companion!!!

Pday - went to the battleship in Wilmington

Loving it!!!

Blitzing can be questionable!!!

So this week went by pretty fast it was kinda crazy haha! We did whats called a blitz in our area.  We had 2 sets of elders here in Leland just working hard like crazy.  It was awesome and while we were blitzing we knocked on a prostitutes door it was pretty funny hahaha!!!!  How did we know - she had a sticker on the door advertising it!!!  Luckily she did not answer haha but it was funny!   Wednesday we went and helped set up an apartment for a senior couple that will be here in this area.  It was pretty great and I really enjoyed that and then the next day we went and met them.  Brother and sister Martin are originally from Blackfoot and he knew where Middleton was!!!  They were living in Utah but they are here now and they will be able help out the area a lot!

I've been driving for 2 weeks now its pretty great but we have a black box that monitors everything in the car so it knows if we speed or anything - (that should make mom feel better!!!) 
Then the rest of the week blew by - our car had to go in the shop so we ended up having to bike and in 3 days we biked over 75 miles! Talk about one sore booty!! Haha it was great though I have had a lot of fun and it is all very enjoyable!!

Oh yea I to to hold this huge catfish!!!!  It was dead but I got to help filet it!!!  

We are going to see the battleship NC today for p day and elder Chiu is going to go throw down on the guitar when we get home!!  LOL!!
